Gianluca Scamacca reveals why he didn’t celebrate his goal against Inter for Sassuolo, amid transfer reports he’ll be wearing the Nerazzurri jersey next season.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Inter in the summer, but in the meantime he sprung the offside trap to nod in during this 2-0 victory at San Siro.

“We’ve had many wonderful nights this season, but the three points were fundamental for us and it’s satisfying to beat one of the favourites for the Scudetto,” Scamacca told DAZN.

Giacomo Raspadori had given the Neroverdi an early lead before Scamacca’s free header.

“The team works hard, I try to improve and give my all for the coach and squad. I have not set any targets for myself, we’ll see where we are at the end of the campaign.”

Considering he has been linked with Inter so heavily, is that why Scamacca didn’t celebrate his goal?

“No, I just wasn’t sure if I was offside or not! That was the only reason.”
