Scamacca distances himself from arrested grandfather

Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca has distanced himself from the ‘violent and unspeakable episodes committed by people linked to my surname’ after his grandfather was arrested.

Il Messaggero reported Gianluca Scamacca’s grandfather Sandro was arrested yesterday after putting a knife to a client’s throat in a bar in Rome.

Scamacca’s father was arrested in May, having entered Roma’s training centre, destroying four or five cars with a tyre iron.

The Neroverdi striker was shaken by the incident and has once again taken to social media to distance himself from another episode linked to his family.

“For the second time in a few months, I find myself again having to distance myself from violent and unspeakable episodes committed by people linked to my surname,” Scamacca wrote on social media.

“But with which for many years now, I have ended all kinds of relationships. I repeat once again that I grew up with my mother and my sister and that they are my family for me. No one else.”
