Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni warns he could ‘change’ the list of players for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to fitness concerns, a big problem for Paulo Dybala and Nico Gonzalez.

The Roma striker and Fiorentina attacking winger were both left in the stands for today’s 5-0 friendly win over the United Arab Emirates.

They were joined there by Cuti Romero of Tottenham and Sevilla’s Papu Gomez.

Speaking to the media after the test match, Scaloni warned the situation was still very fluid preparing for the opening fixture.

“There are players who are not in good shape. I have the possibility to change the list of 26 for the tournament. We’ll see how the situation evolves.”

Dybala and Nico Gonzalez have both been struggling with muscular problems for several months in Serie A, leaving their participation in the World Cup with Argentina in doubt.

La Joya made his comeback off the bench for Roma at the weekend and hit the woodwork, as well as earning a penalty.

However, his fitness levels are a concern, with Nico Gonzalez even more at risk of being dropped from the Seleccion.
