The 22-year-old has really found his form this season in partnership with Romelu Lukaku, scoring 16 goals with four assists in 28 competitive games.

He is already a regular for his country, contributing nine goals in 18 senior caps.

“Lautaro Martinez is the player, after Kylian Mbappé, who the whole world wants to sign for his age and quality,” Scaloni told Spanish newspaper AS.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are said to be tracking Toro for next season and he has a release clause worth €111m in his contract.
