Former Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti has been offered a huge salary to take charge of a club in the Saudi Pro League, claim reports in Italy, believed to be Al-Hilal.

The Partenopei won the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years, which was also the first Scudetto of his coaching career.

He said he felt burned out and therefore walked away at the end of the season, insisting he wanted a sabbatical year on the sidelines.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Spalletti might be tempted to make different plans, as he has been offered a salary worth up to €20m per season to become the manager of a Saudi Pro League team.

The club is not named, but it is likely to be Al-Hilal, who have now seen two massive proposals rejected by Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri.

Spalletti has coached abroad before, spending over four years in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg.

He had already taken a break after he was dismissed by Inter in 2019, returning to work at Napoli in the summer of 2021.
