Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirms the game against Salernitana has been postponed to Sunday: ‘Prevention better than cure.’

The Partenopei were supposed to host the Granata at the Stadio Maradona on Saturday, but the game has been postponed to the following day for ‘public security reasons.’ The kick-off time has not been confirmed yet but should be at 14:00 UK time.

“I am extremely satisfied, prevention is better than cure,” said De Laurentiis on Thursday.

“This city loves celebrating and we already did it in the past, but we need to do it in safety. The city has matured and it’s seen everywhere, not only as a club but also as a city.”

The Partenopei will win the title on Sunday if they beat Granata and Lazio fail to win against Inter at the Stadio Meazza. The game between the Nerazzurri and the Biancocelesti will be played on Sunday at 11:30 UK time.

De Laurentiis also discussed plans for Napoli’s title celebrations, possibly with an open-bus parade.

“We haven’t decided anything yet, we were waiting for decisions from Lega Calcio and the interior minister. We still don’t know what we’ll be allowed to do, but I guess there will be many events on Sunday and Monday. We don’t want to add chaos, so I think celebrations will start and end at the Stadio Maradona.”
