Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali warns Roma that the only offers received for Davide Frattesi come from the Premier League.

The Italy international is a long-time target of the Giallorossi. He is a product of Roma and Lazio‘s academies and José Mourinho’s side hold a 30% clause on his future sale. For this reason, they hope they could sign Frattesi for a fair price, but Sassuolo are unwilling to sell one of their best players on the cheap.

“We are on good terms with Roma and we have valorised several players coming from their academy,” Carnevali told Gazzetta before today’s friendly against Inter at the Mapei Stadium.

“It’s going to be a long month, we have some requests, but our desire is to keep the team competitive.

“We are unwilling to sell our players in the current [January] transfer window, but we’ll see which opportunities we’ll have. We also have some requests for other players, but we mostly focus on new signings.”

Sassuolo sold Gianluca Scamacca to West Ham for €36m last summer, while Frattesi is said to be a transfer target of Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton.

The Italy international made his Serie A debut under the Italian tactician last season.

Frattesi, 23, is under contract until 2026 at the Mapei Stadium and has scored eight goals in 51 Serie A matches, making his senior Azzurri debut in June 2022.
