After the Gialloblu dropped into the bottom three, these Sassuolo vs. Verona predictions favour the home side. But Verona looked a better team in their last match against Milan and will provide stern opposition for the home side on Monday.

A stunning volley from Giorgos Kyriakopoulos gave Sassuolo the lead against high-flying Atalanta last weekend. But two goals from La Dea either side of the break ultimately gave the home side the points. But manager Alessio Dionisi can take some heart from the way his players performed.

There have now been back-to-back defeats to Inter and Atalanta – but Monday’s fixture should give the Neroverdi more of a chance to get some more points on the board. Hellas Verona having lost their last five games.

The visitors do have a new manager though, so this could be a tight game as players play for the place in the starting line-up. There should be a few goals, with Sassuolo the more likely to come out on top in front of their own fans.

New Verona boss Salvatore Bocchetti will be happy with the spirit shown by his players in the defeat to Milan at the weekend. Verona looked much better than in their previous matches and will be hoping to lift themselves out of the bottom three soon.

There has been just one victory all season – against bottom-placed Sampdoria – and that run of form was enough for the owners to get rid of Gabriele Cioffi and install the new head coach. An immediate turnaround is now needed.

Taking Sassuolo on away from home is a tough task though. There could be goals, as both teams look to push on and take all three points. But it could be Verona that come off just slightly worse as they strive to escape the relegation zone.
