Serie A gets back into action this weekend after the international break and Sassuolo vs. Salernitana predictions may be tough to call. Both sides have started the season relatively well and will look to kick on before the World Cup starts.

Sassuolo vs. Salernitana odds

1 – The draw – 5/2

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 4/6

3 – Correct score 2-2 – 11/1

4 – Both teams to score  – 4/7

5 – Krzysztof Piatek to score at any time – 12/5

Sassuolo will look to carry on where they left off before the break, after a victory away at Torino that consolidated their mid-table position and kept their record to just one defeat in the last six Serie A games.

The Neroverdi needed a stoppage time goal from sub Agustin Álvarez for those three points, in a season where goals have been a little hard to come by. Head coach Alessio Dionisi will be hoping that could change on Sunday as his team face opposition that has shipped goals this year.

That could mean that fans of both teams will get to celebrate as the strikers test their shooting skills. Sassuolo have found it difficult picking up the wins this season though – and the absence of Domenico Berardi, once again, could mean that this one ends all square.

Salernitana have also made draws something of a habit so far this season, with four of seven Serie A games finishing that way. The Juventus game was particularly memorable but head coach Davide Nicola would probably take a point here after the disappointing loss to struggling Lecce last time out.

Nicola will be looking to his strikers to continue to score the goals that have seen them compete with the best of the Italian top-flight so far – and it could be Polish international Krzystof Piatek that gets on the scoresheet at some point at the Mapei Stadium.

He featured for his national side during the break from Serie A action and, although he is yet to be prolific at Salernitana, might cause the Sassuolo defence some problems this weekend.

Sassuolo vs. Salernitana line-ups

Sassuolo (4-3-3): Consigli; Rogério, Ferrari, Ayhan, Toljan; Frattesi, López, Harroui; Laurienté, Pinamonti, D’Andrea

Salernitana (3-5-2): Sepe; Daniliuc, Gyomber, Bronn; Mazzochi, Maggiore, Coulibaly, Vilhena, Candreva; Piatek, Dia

Sassuolo team news

It must be hard for Alessio Dionisi to see Giacomo Raspadori doing so well for the Azzurri and Napoli on loan from Sassuolo, but he will have to put his faith in Andrea Pinamonti and Davide Frattesi to score the much-needed goals. Agustin Álvarez – the goalscorer against Torino – will probably start on the bench again.

Salernitana team news

Davide Nicola’s long-term injury problems mean that Franck Ribéry will play no part here and he will be looking to get the best out of the likes of Krzystof Piatek and Boulaye Dia, with Federico Bonazzoli looking to come off the bench later on if Salernitana haven’t managed to break through the Sassuolo defence.
