Can anyone stop the Partenopei’s march to the Scudetto? These Sassuolo vs. Napoli predictions certainly don’t think so, with the visitors tipped for another three points.
1 – Napoli to win – 11/20
2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 4/6
3 – Both teams to score – 3/4
4 – Victor Osimhen to score first – 15/4
5 – Napoli to win 3-1 – 11/1
It seems almost inevitable now. Napoli look as if they are going to win just their third league title – and it is a confident person who predicts Luciano Spalletti’s side losing to anyone before the end of the season at the moment.
Napoli took revenge on Cremonese’s Coppa Italia triumph earlier in the season, when they ran out 3-0 winners on Sunday. Yet another goal from Victor Osimhen was included in the haul and the Nigerian striker is a good bet to open the scoring this Friday.
The visitors should be in complete control throughout this one at the Mapei Stadium and should be able to extend their lead at the top of Serie A. With very few injuries, Spalletti has been able to field a familiar starting XI all season and will expect them to come away from Emilia-Romagna with another win.
Sassuolo do have some fighting spirit though – and showed it again at the weekend, as they came back from a goal within the first 30 seconds to claim a draw away at Udinese. It was the worst possible start for the Neroverdi but they managed to claw back to 2-2 before the break.
Alessio Dionisi will be sweating over the condition of Domenico Berardi though. The Sassuolo star man was taken off with another injury before 15 minutes had been played and now we will wait to see whether he can recover in time for the visit of the champions-elect.
After a terrible run of results either side of the Christmas break, Sassuolo have actually improved in the last few weeks, taking eight points from a possible 12. But even if the home side do manage to find the net on Friday, this game should only finish one way.

Sassuolo (4-3-3): Consigli; Zortea, Erlić, Tressoldi, Marchizza; Matheus Henrique, Obiang, Frattesi; Berardi, Defrel, Laurienté
Napoli (4-3-3): Meret; Di Lorenzo, Kim, Rrahmani, Rui; Zieliński, Lobotka, Anguissa; Lozano, Osimhen, Kvaratskhelia
There will undoubtedly be further tests throughout the week, but Domenico Berardi’s injury didn’t look too bad when he came off against Udinese, so Dionisi should be able to start him here. Grégoire Defrel should also get the nod up front ahead of Andrea Pinamonti.
Luciano Spalletti’s team just about picks itself these days and the starting XI should be familiar to anyone watching Napoli this season. Piotr Zieliński did leave the field injured at the weekend though, so Elif Elmas will be ready to deputise if needed.
