Sassuolo have lost defensive target Omer Toprak to Werder Bremen, so they could now move for Napoli’s Lorenzo Tonelli.
Sassuolo seemed to be closing in on Toprak’s signature, but Bremen announced on Sunday that he had signed for them on loan with an option to buy.
Consequently, Tutto Napoli claims the Neroverdi could now step up their interest in Tonelli.
The 29-year-old is not in Carlo Ancelotti’s first-team plans, while Sampdoria opted not to make his season-long loan permanent.
