Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali confirms the Neroverdi have begun initial contacts for Milan, Inter and Arsenal target Gianluca Scamacca although they still haven’t received concrete offers.
The Italy striker has emerged as one of the hottest commodities in the summer transfer windows, with many top clubs linked with securing his services.
However, Sassuolo director Carnevali has now confirmed that the Neroverdi have not received concrete offers from any club.
“Our desire is to keep most players in the team, and there is nothing concrete for now,” Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia.
“There have been some contacts with some clubs for Scamacca and others. Perhaps the national team will make the interest grow.”
Domenico Berardi, Giacomo Raspadori, Davide Frattesi and Hamed Traore are among the Sassuolo players linked with moves to big clubs, while Italy starlet Wilfried Gnonto is a potential target for the Neroverdi.
“We need to wait for young players and give them a chance in Serie A,” Carnevali added.
“We had made contact to sign him some time ago, it’s part of our philosophy. We must give these guys a chance to play. Otherwise, the national team won’t reach great results.”
Gnonto made his senior Azzurri debut against Germany last week, delivering his first assist a few minutes after being subbed on in the second half. Scamacca, 23, scored 16 goals in 38 appearances with Sassuolo in 2021-22.
His contract at the Mapei Stadium runs out in June 2026.
