Sassuolo chief Giovanni Carnevali confirms ‘Napoli and Juventus have set their sights on Giacomo Raspadori’ and he wants to get a deal done quickly.

The Neroverdi have already sold star striker Giacomo Raspadori to West Ham United and now risk losing another member of their attacking trio.

“Napoli and Juventus have set their sights on Raspadori,” Carnevali told Il Giornale.

“Clearly, there’s a long way to go yet in the transfer session and anything could still happen, but it’s also true to say our idea is to stop negotiations over the next few days so that we can concentrate on the league.”

Raspadori is under contract until June 2024 and does not seem intent on signing an extension, telling the club he wants to move on to a more ambitious side this summer.

Napoli had been considered the absolute favourites, but it seems as if they are not alone in chasing the Italy international, as Juve are also in the running.

The 22-year-old scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 36 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo last season, earning him a regular place in the senior Italy squad.

Raspadori can play as a support striker on the left, right or centre, and even as a False 9 when needed.

Meanwhile, Carnevali also commented on the seemingly abandoned Roma negotiations for midfielder Davide Frattesi.

“Roma were interested for a while. We wanted Domenico Berardi to be an icon of Sassuolo and that’s what he is today.

“I am excited to see how Agustin Alvarez and Kristian Thorstvedt do in their debut seasons, as I think they have great potential.”

5 thought on “Sassuolo: ‘Napoli and Juventus want Raspadori’”
  1. Juve seem to be interested in everyone but no matter who they get Allegri will soon ruin them with his antiquated slow ball tactics especially the youngsters

  2. We dont need him, he’s only has 1 good yr – plays on the left where chiesa plays – we need zaniola=right side

  3. I agree that Zaniolo has higher potential, but the injury risk remains. Maybe it’s better to get Raspadori this year and Zaniolo next year. I wouldn’t bank on Chiesa too much this year because of his injury. Raspadori – Vlahovic – Di Maria this year, with Chiesa replacing Raspadori Towards the end of the campaign. Next year, Chiesa – Vlahovic – Zaniolo and Raspadori as second choice. Also, next year Zanioli will be much cheaper and a safer bet. Seems risky to spend 50 mil on him know. Next year, maybe 35 would be a better deal.

  4. Zambrotta
Are you outta your mind ? banking on Chiesa ?! WTH
He is the only one that can’t be sold in Juve . Genius

  5. @zambrotta – i get your logic – however thrs no gurantee that zaniola will not renew if juve dont get him this yr – who knows maybe madrid / man city / liverpool / barca / psg / chelsea / munich = all clubs are currently better than us and have more money to spend = could get him.

Or maybe he will just stay at roma and waste his talent
