Manuel Locatelli is no longer simply on loan at Juventus after the club activated the buy option attached to his move from Sassuolo.

The Bianconeri picked up the 25-year-old Italian midfielder from the Neroverdi in August 2021 on a two-year loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause attached, adding him to their squad after his impressive work in Italy’s Euro 2020 success.

Since his arrival, Locatelli has made 68 appearances across all competitions for Juventus, scoring three goals and providing five assists.

As reported by Romeo Agresti, Juventus have decided to make Locatelli’s stay at the club permanent before his obligation to buy clause activates, paying €25m to Sassuolo over three instalments, with add-ons linked to sporting objectives worth €12.5m.

The Italian midfielder is now tied to the Bianconeri until June 2026, earning around €3m net per season, confirming his future in the Piedmont capital.
