The news that four members of the Italy staff tested positive for COVID last night started alarm bells ringing, especially when Juventus then found Leonardo Bonucci was infected today.

While other clubs such as Napoli, Roma and Milan have announced the players who returned from international duty with Italy tested negative, Sassuolo are being extra cautious.

A statement released by the club confirms that as a precaution, Sassuolo are leaving out the players who were with the Italy training camp for their next match against Roma.

Specifically, those would be Domenico Berardi, Francesco Caputo and Manuel Locatelli.

Of the three, only Locatelli was not already injured.

Gian Marco Ferrari will also be kept in quarantine, as he was in the Italy squad, even if he did not play.
