Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali confirms Hamed Traore will join Bournemouth after several days of negotiations adding that his €30m price tag means Davide Frattesi will be more expensive over the summer.

The Neroverdi have sent the 22-year-old to England, finalising a €30m deal with the Premier League strugglers who had previously tried to sign Nicolò Zaniolo from Roma.

“We’ve been in talks with Bournemouth for several days,” Carnevali told Sportitalia.

“We had made a request which they [Bournemouth] have just fulfilled. We didn’t want to sell at a different price and we managed to finalise the deal. We had a problem because Traore’s contract expired in 2024.”

The Neroverdi will keep Frattesi at least until the end of the season despite Roma’s long-time interest. Carnevali had met the midfielder’s agent in Milan earlier today, reportedly discussing a potential late move to the Stadio Olimpico to replace Zaniolo.

Traore’s sale for €30m means Frattesi will be even more expensive over the summer, the Sassuolo director confirmed.

When Carnevali was asked whether the same fee would be enough for the Italy international at the end of the season, he replied: “You know, we sold Traore for €30m, so for Frattesi….”

“It won’t be enough,” added the journalist, with Carnevali smiling.
