Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali confirms Giacomo Raspadori ‘has a request from Napoli’ and they have not ruled out another sale after Gianluca Scamacca to West Ham.

The Neroverdi have tried to keep hold of their talents and can drive a hard bargain, but are also inevitably a selling club and their internationals will attract interest.

Scamacca was sold to West Ham United for €36m plus €6m in add-ons and a 10 per cent cut of any future transfer fee, after the Premier League club outbid Paris Saint-Germain.

“It was not an easy operation and it took some time,” Carnevali told Sky Sport Italia.

“I am sorry that Scamacca didn’t stay in Italy, but at the same time it’s nice to send a young lad to the Premier League.”

Now Napoli have made an approach for fellow Italy international forward Raspadori, who is reportedly commanding a fee in excess of €25m.

“We already made an important sale in January with Jeremie Boga to Atalanta, so we do not need to sell. At the same time, it’s not easy to hold back a player who has ambition.

“Raspadori has a request from Napoli, we’ll see what happens over the next few days. In any case, our desire is to continue improving our squad.”

Raspadori is 22 years old and scored 10 goals with six assists in 36 Serie A appearances last season.

Domenico Berardi would appear to be staying at Sassuolo, as he has just changed his shirt number to 10.

Davide Frattesi had seemed to be on the verge of a move to Roma, only for the two clubs to hit an impasse over the transfer fee.

“There was contact with Roma, but for the moment we are at a standstill because their offer is not close to our demand.”
