Sassuolo have found Gianluca Scamacca’s replacement in the form of Pisa’s Serie B hitman Lorenzo Lucca, who in turn will be replaced by Ernesto Torregrossa.

The Neroverdi sold Scamacca to West Ham United for €36m plus €6m in bonuses and a 10 per cent cut of any future transfer fee.

According to Sportitalia, Sassuolo have already found the heir to the Italy international, closing on a deal with Pisa for Lucca.

The centre-forward turns 22 in September and is even taller than Scamacca, standing 2.01m tall compared to his predecessor’s 1.95m.

He spent time in the Vicenza, Torino and Brescia youth academies before playing for Palermo and moving to Pisa in the summer of 2021.

Lucca has two goals in five caps for the Italy Under-21 side, and had attracted attention from multiple clubs including Milan after a sensational start to the 2021-22 season for Pisa.

He scored six goals in the opening seven Serie B games, but that was where his streak ended, not hitting the back of the net again that season.

Pisa have in turn already zeroed in on the replacement for Lucca, securing Sampdoria striker Ernesto Torregrossa.
