Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali admits Milan haven’t made an offer to buy Domenico Berardi and hopes Gianluca Scamacca remains in SerieA.

The Neroverdi face Milan in the last match of the season on Sunday. The Rossoneri will become Serie A champions for the first time in 11 years if they win or draw at the Mapei Stadium.

“I have a strong bond with Marotta. We worked together and I’ve learned a lot from him. But Maldini and Massara are also friends of mine,” Carnevali told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“We don’t want to give favours to anyone. Our only target is to win the game to finish tenth or ninth. We will put in full commitment and professionalism as we’ve always done over the years.”

Milan are reportedly interested in Sassuolo star Berardi, who has contributed to 28 goals this season (15 goals and 13 assists). However, Carnevali ensures that the Rossoneri have not submitted an offer for the Italy international.

“We’ve never received an official offer for Domenico,” he said. “I’ve heard that they like him, but nothing more. He is a champion and if I were the director of a top club, he’d be my first signing. He scored against Bologna, helping us win and finish above the Rossoblu again.”

Scamacca, scorer of 16 goals this season, has also attracted interest from many top clubs in Italy and Europe.

“I hope he will stay in Serie A because he has a bright future ahead and it would be a shame to lose a striker like him,” Carnevali admitted.

“With Locatelli, we facilitated his move to Juventus because he wanted to stay in Italy.”

Sassuolo coach Alessio Dionisi has also spoken about the upcoming match between the Neroverdi and Milan, ensuring that his players will put in maximum commitment against Stefano Pioli’s men, adding that nobody should give Milan’s win for granted.

  1. There are one hundred interviews by people around Sa*suolo in the last few days saying how they’re gonna be professionals and all, but I don’t see anything from Sampdoria. Are they not in the same situation?

Now are they going to be professional too or are they just gonna roll over for Inter? Well I guess we already know how Sensi is going to play.
