Sassuolo: ‘Berardi bidding war’

by | May 2, 2016 17:04

Sassuolo patron Giorgio Squinzi insists Domenico Berardi will go to “whoever pays more,” as there is no Juventus deal.

It has been said for well over a year that Juve have a €25m option to buy the Italy Under-21 talent this summer.

However, it seems to be more of a gentleman’s agreement and a not very solid one at that.

“There is nothing definite with Juventus,” Squinzi told the Sole 24 Ore newspaper.

“Are they the favourites? The favourites are whoever pays more.”

With Inter, Milan, Tottenham and other Premier League clubs interested, there could be a massive bidding war.

The forward will turn 22 in August and has scored a remarkable 38 goals in 89 Serie A games, also providing 22 assists.
