Sportitalia transfer chief Alfredo Pedullà claims Leicester City have made an approach for Maurizio Sarri, but the ex-Lazio coach is waiting for better offers.

Sarri decided to walk away from Lazio in March and is in no particular rush to choose his next role.

He has already been linked with the roles at Fiorentina, Bologna and Panathinaikos.

Now Sportitalia report that Leicester City have talked to the coach, hoping he could replace Enzo Maresca, who will be poached by Chelsea this summer.

Leicester interested in Sarri

The Foxes have a famous history with Italian coaches, having won the Premier League title with Claudio Ranieri.

Sarri is also no stranger to English football, having won the Europa League trophy at Chelsea.

Leicester City have just secured their promotion back to the Premier League, topping the Championship table.

While they have made an approach for the former Napoli boss, Sportitalia note that he is not interested in joining Leicester City and is waiting for more intriguing proposals to come in.
