Sarri touted for Milan bench

Empoli's Maurizio Sarri is being touted as a candidate to replace Coach Filippo Inzaghi after Milan's defeat against Fiorentina.

Il Diavolo seem unable to get back on their feet as they squandered the lead to lose 2-1 to La Viola on Monday night.

Inzaghi, who acknowledged after the game that his bench may be in peril, is again speculated as likely to be replaced in the near future if his results don't improve.

Today's edition of il Corriere della Sera reports that a victory against Cagliari next Saturday could be decisive.

Meanwhile, several sources indicate Empoli's Sarri as a possible candidate for succession, with Calciomercato.com reporting an interest from President Silvio Berlusconi, and former midfielder Massimo Ambrosini praising the Coach.

“Sarri has everything it takes to earn an opportunity with Milan,” said Ambrosini to Sky Sport.

“He's doing well, and he's a Coach who can train a team to play a certain type of offensive game.

“Sarri likes the 4-3-1-2, which is the formation that Berlusconi likes the most.

“He deserves to be considered by a great team like that of the Rossoneri.”
