Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi says he doesn’t want to have to replace Maurizio Sarri, but would be ‘happy for him’ if we went to Milan.

The Rossoneri have been linked with the Coach to replace Pippo Inzaghi at the end of the season, and the Tuscan club’s President admits that it would be a just reward.

“Sarri to Milan?” the patron considered.

“On one hand I’d be saddened, because he’d be very difficult to replace, but I’d be happy for him.

“On one hand I’d be saddened, because he’d be very difficult to replace, but I’d be happy for him.

“He is dedicated to football and his work, and he’s done important work with us, because we bring players through the youth sector for the first team, things that the other teams don’t do.”

Corsi also criticised the governance of Italian football, pointing to it as the reason clubs often look abroad for talent.

“You can see why some people buy abroad, because there are no guarantees. Serie C was the core of our youth football, now players are bought from South America.

“If I buy a player with a deal over five years, there are some people who don’t fulfil these promises, and that’s why many teams are virtually full of foreigners.”
