Maurizio Sarri has decided not to try out a new adventure in Greece, rejecting an interesting offer from Panathinaikos.

The 65-year-old Italian coach has been out of work since unexpectedly resigning from his post with Lazio back in March. He is not expected to remain on the sidelines for long, interested in taking on a new job ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Sarri has been linked with a whole host of clubs in recent months, including Milan, Fiorentina, Torino, Spartak Moscow, Bologna, Olympique Marseille and Leicester City. Last week, reports emerged detailing a tempting offer to the Italian coach from Panathinaikos, which he was considering.

Sarri decision

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Sarri has ultimately decided not to accept Panathinaikos’ offer, despite their tempting terms. He is still waiting for the right project ahead of the new season but will not take on a fresh adventure in Greece.

The 65-year-old tactician already revealed last month that he’d received multiple offers from abroad, coming from the Premier League and La Liga.
