Lazio players will mark the end of the first part of the pre-season, with coach Maurizio Sarri paying for dinner this evening.

The Biancocelesti end the first part of the pre-season at Auronzo di Cadore today with a friendly against Serie C side Padova at 17.00 UK time.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio players have two reasons to do well today as their coach Maurizio Sarri has promised to take them out for dinner after the game.

Sarri is reportedly happy with what he’s seen so far and will pay for the dinner in a local pizzeria.

His assistant Giovanni Martusciello has confirmed that the former Chelsea, Juventus and Napoli coach has good feelings about his new team.

“It hasn’t happed in a while,” he said at a press conference.

“We feel empathy between the coaching staff and the players, we expect to see some improvements.

“It’s normal to struggle a little at the beginning, but all the lads have made themselves available, which is the thing we like the most.”
