Andre Villas Boas is flying in to meet with Lazio, but he is by no means the only choice, as other reports point to Maurizio Sarri.

Simone Inzaghi did not renew his contract, which expires on June 30, and agreed a two-year deal with Inter instead, forcing Claudio Lotito to find a replacement.

Several names have been mentioned and this evening Villas Boas appeared to become the hot favourite, as Il Tempo and LaLazioSiamoNoi reported he was flying in tomorrow morning.

However, that does not necessarily mean the decision has been made, as he could simply be arriving for a meeting.

Now Sportitalia and Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà insists Sarri is very much in the running for the role.

He maintains tomorrow will be decisive for Sarri one way or the other, especially if Juventus release him from his contract for €2.5m.

Other candidates further back include Sinisa Mihajlovic of Bologna, Spezia’s Vincenzo Italiano and Udinese boss Luca Gotti.
