Maurizio Sarri saw improvements in Napoli’s draw with Sampdoria, but “knows nothing” about new buy Nathaniel Chalobah.
The Partenopei had taken a commanding lead through Gonzalo Higuain’s brace, but Eder netted twice in 120 seconds for the 2-2 result.
“I saw 55 minutes of very good football, an enormous step forward compared to our last game,” said the Coach.

The Partenopei had taken a commanding lead through Gonzalo Higuain’s brace, but Eder netted twice in 120 seconds for the 2-2 result.
“I saw 55 minutes of very good football, an enormous step forward compared to our last game,” said the Coach.
“We suffered a psychological setback after the generous penalty and struggled. I saw improvements, even though we can’t keep that up for the entire 90 minutes yet.
“With this performance, we can’t think of not winning in the long run and I think our domination was evident.”
The Stadio San Paolo was two thirds empty and Napoli fans protested at the lack of transfer activity.
“The atmosphere in the stadium didn’t help us either, as it’s difficult to remain focused for 90 minutes in these conditions.”
This evening England Under-21 international midfielder Chalobah flew in for his medical, completing a loan move from Chelsea with option to buy.
When the Coach was asked what he thought of the new arrival, the response was surprising.
“I couldn’t tell you, as I don’t know anything about the player. If the club picked him then he must have some quality. I train whoever the club puts at my disposal.”
