Maurizio Sarri will hold showdown talks with Lazio President Claudio Lotito today and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the coach will ask the club to reunite with Everton’s Allan.

Sarri put new contract talks on hold in February following a disappointing January transfer campaign led by Igli Tare. Lotito had announced the coach’s contract extension at the end of 2021, but negotiations will resume today.

Sarri has recently refused to commit his future to Lazio publicly and reportedly wants guarantees about the technical project. He also wants to be more involved in transfer decisions and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, he expects several new signings next summer, at least seven or eight.

Both Pepe Reina and Thomas Strakosha are expected to leave, so Sarri will need two new goalkeepers. Marco Carnesecchi and Sergio Rico seem to be their top targets, given that Chelsea’s keeper Kepa is too expensive for the Serie A side.

Sarri will also be looking for two or three new centre-backs, especially if Francesco Acerbi leaves. Lazio are in talks with Milan‘s Alessio Romagnoli, who can join the club as a free agent. Sarri has already approved his signing.

The former Napoli boss also wants a new left-back and is aware that Sergej Milinkovic-Savic may decide to leave. Therefore, Sarri will be looking for two new midfielders: one Regista and a Mezzala. The 63-year-old hopes to reunite with Allan, who is expected to leave Everton, and Matias Vecino, who sees his Inter contract expire in June.

The last request is a back-up for Ciro Immobile and Genk’s Paul Onuachu is reported to be Lazio’s primary target in attack.
