Maurizio Sarri believes Lazio’s errors were crucial in their 2-1 loss against Sassuolo, although his side was also affected by Mattia Zaccagni and Pedro’s injuries.
The Biancocelesti failed to win the second game in a row, losing 2-1 at the Mapei Stadium.
“The development of the game caused us trouble. We had to replace Pedro and Zaccagni, who had been doing well, but we also have ourselves to blame,” Sarri told DAZN.
“We’ve often faced teams playing with a 4-2-3-1 system, we knew what we had to do and that it was a difficult game, Sassuolo are a strong team. Technically, they are worth more than their position in the table.
“We made some mistakes and we were a bit unlucky with Pedro and Zaccagni’s injuries,” Sarri continued.
“We lacked a little bit of quality, but I can’t say we didn’t run enough or that we lacked commitment.”

Forza Lazio
Mustafa, if you ask me Sarris football is pretty much EPL tempo football with some flair and less agression. Lazio hasn’t managed to adapt to your liking, but ask a Laziale who doesn’t expect to finish top5 what he thinks.
Your opinion stays your opinion…
.
Let me add that beating Sassuolo would’ve put us 5th and if not for the 2 injuries Lazio likely wouldn’t have lost.
But again, its your opinion and it’s nothing wrong with that and your input has been apreciated.
Not much of Sarri´’s football is similar to the EPL. He failed in England. I’m just amazed at how immune he seems to be to criticism. But thanks for your answer. My previous comment was removed. I must have upset someone, which only supports my thesis that he is never criticized.
We expect Sarri to play Sarri-ball but he has been fed a squad, and more specifically defenders, that belong the a Serie B team.
As long as we have Immobile we wont struggle with the offensive parts of our game. But defensively we are really not built for Sarri-ball. Look at the previous clubs where he tried to introduce his gamestyle, Napoli, Juventus, Chelsea. We don´t have a single defender or defensive midfielder that can compare to these.
Rui – Koulibaly – Albiol – Hysaj / Hamsik – Jorginho – Allan
Alex Sandro – Chiellini – de Ligt – Cancelo / Matuidi – Pjanic – Rabiot – Bentancur
Alonso – Rudiger – Luiz – Azpilicueta / Jorginho – Kante – Kovacic
Looking at Lazios squad, our defensive players would benefit from playing a layed back defensive style. And our offense is at it´s best when we get to counterattack. That is of course not Sarris style.
So for me the only solution is for Tare to provide Sarri with a whole new back line, and a top class defensive midfielder.
