The Bianconeri visit Olympique Lyonnais this evening in the first leg of the Round of 16.
Their coach spoke to Esporte Interativo and was asked about comments from Barcelona hero Messi and Liverpool manager Klopp suggesting Juve were among the favourites.
“I think they’re making fun,” replied Sarri. “We are one of the strong teams in the competition, but there are stronger sides than us in Europe at the moment and at least 10 clubs whose objective is to win the Champions League.
“We’re in there too, but unlike the Italian trophies which we do feel very much obliged to win, the Champions League is more dream than objective.
“Juventus are not obliged to win the Champions League because there are financially stronger clubs, who have more revenue, so our only pressure is to try, and we will try.
“It’s difficult right from the start with this knockout round against Lyon, who are inconsistent, but still very strong. An away fixture in the Champions League is always going to be extremely tough.”
