Empoli Coach Maurizio Sarri has had enough of compliments rather than victories after dominating Inter.
The Nerazzurri were reduced to just 39 per cent possession at the Stadio Castellani and grabbed a 0-0 draw thanks to Samir Handanovic’s saves.
“After a performance like that, compliments aren’t entirely welcome because we thoroughly deserved three points,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.

“After a performance like that, compliments aren’t entirely welcome because we thoroughly deserved three points,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.
“A win today would’ve given us a real confidence booster, but we have to make do with a point. In all of our home games we deserved more than we actually picked up. I can only hope this is just a period in which we struggle to convert our chances and it will pass.
“When a team is in good shape, it should make the most of it with a stockpile of points for when form can waver later on in the season. It would’ve been better to have more of a cushion from the relegation zone.”
Empoli have strengthened during the transfer window by bringing in Riccardo Saponara on loan from Milan.
“He probably never found the right moment at Milan, but I am convinced he can give his best here and entertain the fans. We hope to make him shine again on this stage.”
