In a surprise move, Roma winger Pedro could end up joining Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio after they worked together at Chelsea.

Pedro is under contract with the Giallorossi until June 2023, having joined them as a free agent from Chelsea last September.

However, he is not part of new coach Jose Mourinho’s plans and has been cut out of the squad, not even invited to attend their pre-season training.

He has been linked with numerous clubs, including Sampdoria, Torino, Genoa, Real Sociedad, Valencia, Milan and Al-Rayyan.

Now Sportitalia transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà maintains the 34-year-old Spaniard could remain in the Eternal City and cross the Stadio Olimpico to the Biancocelesti end.

New Lazio coach Sarri is looking for wide men to complete his transformation from Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 formation to his favoured 4-3-3.

Pedro had an excellent run of form at Chelsea under Sarri during their one season together, scoring 13 goals and providing five assists in 52 competitive games.
