Riccardo Saponara is on the verge of a move to Genoa on loan from Fiorentina, remaining in the city after his Sampdoria spell.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the all-clear is imminent for Saponara to move on loan with option to buy for €3.8m.
Fiorentina purchased the trequartista from Empoli for €10.5m in January 2017, but spent last season on loan with the Blucerchiati.
He made only 24 competitive appearances for Sampdoria, scoring two goals with five assists.
Saponara also played for Ravenna and Milan.
