Santos have confirmed that they hope to keep Inter forward Gabriel Barbosa beyond the end of his loan spell.
Gabigol returned to Santos in January after an indifferent 16 months at Inter and has scored five goals in his last four matches, including a hat-trick against Vasco da Gama last time out.
“We know his stay here is linked to the loan that will expire at the end of the year,” Coach Cuca told Globo Esporte.

“We’d like to keep him for longer so we will do everything to renew his loan, but we’re well aware of the difficulties as he’s owned by Inter.
“Renato Gaucho would like him at Gremio? He has good taste, Gabriel is a great player, but right now he’s ours.”
