Davide Santon described Inter’s draw at Atalanta as ‘a missed opportunity’ and accused his team of lacking ‘ruthlessness.’
The Nerazzurri failed to take advantage of the fact their two main rivals for a Champions League place, Lazio and Roma, are set to go head-to-head at the Stadio Olimpico this evening.
Following yesterday’s goalless stalemate in Bergamo, Luciano Spalletti’s team remain fifth in Serie A – level on points with the two Rome clubs but having played a game less.

“The Coach talks about technical deficiencies. He is right, but more than anything we lack ruthlessness,” Santon commented.
“If you don’t score, you don’t win. We conceded territory and and got ourselves into difficulty, but it will be a war until the end because our target is very important for us.
“With the derby coming up, it is a wasted opportunity, like many this year. But we are still up there.”
Santon, who played the full 90 minutes yesterday but has made only 11 other appearances this season, was quizzed about his future.
“In terms of the situation over my future, I still haven’t discussed it.
“Right now, what matters is to achieve our objectives, then we will see and we will talk.”
