"There has been talk about this move for the last couple of months," his agent Marco Piccioli told Radio CRC on Wednesday.

"The player was delighted when I told him that the deal with Napoli was coming to a successful conclusion.

"Mario has realised a dream by joining the Azzurri and it is always particularly intriguing for Argentine players to wear the Napoli shirt.

"It's hard to turn down such a club when they make a call."

The 29-year-old South American, formerly of Venezia” data-scaytid=”9″>Venezia, Chievo and Palermo, has signed a three-year deal in Naples.
