Giuseppe Sannino dedicated Carpi’s historic victory over Torino to the man he replaced, Fabrizio Castori.

The Coach was brought in this week and made the dream debut, a 2-1 against Toro representing the club’s first ever Serie A win.

“I want to remember how much Fabrizio Castori contributed to this moment. A change of Coach is always a problematic moment. He made history, but life goes on,” Sannino told Sky Sport Italia.

“The lads had to understand that there’s a big difference between Serie A and B. If we are the team seen tonight, then we can do well.

“We want to play an organised style of football and over the last three days I tried to drum that mentality into the players. We have to pass the ball around more and it does feel a shame to get Marco Borriello go so deep. He should be given better service.

“Torino are a strong side and know how to open up spaces. They caused us problems, but these three points are fully deserved. I’ve faced Torino four times and always won, so evidently they bring me luck.

“Tomorrow we hope for more positive results that can take us away from the foot of the table.”
