Sandro has terminated his contract with Genoa after failing to receive any game time this season.
Sandro returned from a loan spell at Udinese last summer but was overlooked by all three of Genoa’s 2019-20 coaches – Aurelio Andreazzoli, Thiago Motta and Davide Nicola.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder had 18 months left on his deal but now accepts his face does not fit in Liguria.
“Last summer the directors told me to look for another club, since I was no longer part of their plans,” he told Globo Esporte.

“Last summer the directors told me to look for another club, since I was no longer part of their plans,” he told Globo Esporte.
“It was towards the end of the market and I didn’t accept any offers. They wanted me to leave, but I had two more years left on my contract and I told them I would stay.
“In the meantime, though, I’ve always been told the same thing, namely that I’d never have played: therefore, in the end, we opted for a termination.
“I don’t know why Genoa acted the way they did, it was all very strange…”
The 30-year-old has spent the past decade outside his native Brazil, so is it time to go home?
“Now I’m available to listen to any offer that comes my way.
“I’ve been in Europe for 10 years, but if someone from Brazil was to call me then l’d be happy to return.
“I want to show that I’m still an excellent player.”
