Barcelona’s Alexis Sanchez would be a perfect addition to the Inter squad, says his former boss Pasquale Marino.

The Chilean international is being linked with the Nerazzurri and Juventus given his difficulties in Spain this season.

“Alexis Sanchez is an exceptional player,” Marino, who worked with him at Udinese, told FC Inter News.

“I think he’d do really well at Inter.

“If he doesn’t consistently play for the rest of the season then I think it would be probable that he’d look for another important club.”

The South American is a forward player who Marino insists can fit into a variety of different tactical set-ups.

“He can play in a lot of formations,” he added. “He can be the second striker in a 4-4-2 – or even as the wide midfielder in that shape.

“He can play as the wide attacker in a 4-3-3 or the second striker in a 3-5-2. In a 4-2-3-1, he can be used in all three roles behind the striker.

“He’s an athlete, he runs a lot and he would have no problem fitting into any team.”
