Despite reports this morning suggesting that a deal could be done for €25m in January, Moratti said: "I don't think so."

And Guidolin is keen not to lose a player who is starting to make a real impression in Serie A after years of inconsistency.

"If it was up to me then I would keep Sanchez until June and I think the club agree with me on that," the tactician said.

"However, it does depend on a number of factors and we'll just have to wait and see what happens."

Guidolin, who arrived from Parma in the summer, also added that he finds the January transfer window frustrating and overly complicated.

"The window is open for too long," he claimed. "I think 10 days is enough for business to be done."
