Inter forward Alexis Sanchez has suffered a flexor injury and will reportedly be out for at least 15 days.

Bad news for coach Simone Inzaghi, who was hoping to have the Chile international available for the match against Napoli this weekend.

Inter are currently sweating over the conditions of several key players after the international break, with Stefan de Vrij struggling with a similar problem.

Sanchez was replaced in the first half of the 2-0 defeat to Ecuador and medical exams in Chile has, according to Sky Sport Italia, revealed an injury in the flexor of the hip.

The attacker will be out for at least 15 days and his conditions will be re-assessed next week.

Alexis Sanchez complains about playing time, hints at Inter exit

The 32-year-old, who arrived on a free transfer from Manchester United, has played 10 competitive games with the Nerazzurri this term.

But the South American star has already missed three games to muscle injuries and returns from his duty with Chile in the World Cup Qualifiers with another issue.

  1. Is this the same Sanchez who a few weeks ago was complaining that you can’t keep a Ferrari in the garage. Essentially complaining of not playing enough. Hummm wonder why. Every time he gets a run of a few games in he gets injured and out for longer. More like a Ford (fix.or.repair.daily) than a Ferrari.

  2. I believe this is the 3rd international break in the past 4 that he returns to Inter injured. He had a good 1/2 season with Inter and has been injured or out of form since. Chilean national team gets the best of him, Inter pay his wages.
