Fiorentina midfielder Carlos Sanchez reveals he 'is comfortable' in his makeshift defensive role at the club.
The former Aston Villa man was deployed on the right of a three-man defence in a 2-1 victory over Juventus, and had previously been asked to carry out a man-marking job on Carlos Bacca during an encounter with Milan earlier in the campaign.
"I had already played in defence, but never from the first minute," Sanchez admitted to Corriere dello Sport.
"How did I find it? I would say, well, I felt comfortable.

"Now there are two competitions to be pursued, we want to go far because we have to stay in Europe. This year and for the future.
"We lost against Napoli, but this does not change anything: we have shown what our mentality is and we have to make it come through more and more.
"My future? In Florence I feel good and I am at ease with my family. This is why I want to stay.
"Appearances? I haven’t counted them. I know my transfer depends on the number of times that I play, but I'm focused on the job.
"I have to do my best, because I want to stay here.
"For me, though, the only thing that matters is that the team wins. Fiorentina is a team that is worth much more than the current league position.
"Now we must rediscover our rhythm, like we did against Juve and be focused to win."
When the Colombian arrived in Tuscany, it was reported that former Viola winger Juan Cuadrado had convinced him to sign for the club. Was this the case?
"Yes, and he also taught me Italian," Sanchez continued.
"I sometimes teach French and English to other members of the national team.
"How would I describe Cuadrado? The placement of unpredictability onto the pitch."
