Last month the stadium was confirmed as host for the Champions League Final in 2016 and this was followed by continued reports that Milan are considering leaving the ground soon after this.

In spite of the latter developments, the Gazzetta dello Sport report that the municipality of Milan have put in requests to the Italian Football Federation and the Lega Serie A that San Siro hosts the 2015 Coppa Italia Final and the 2015 Supercoppa Italiana.

City officials are reportedly eyeing both matches as ‘dress rehearsals’ for the following year’s Champions League Final.

Milan are also hosting the 2015 Expo in an area of land that Silvio Berlusconi’s club are apparently considering bidding for to develop their planned new stadium.

The 2014 edition of the Supercoppa Italiana is set to be played in Doha in late December and will reportedly make Juventus, Napoli and the League €2.5m, whilst Beijing, who have three times recently hosted the event, pay out €3m to participants.
