A UEFA inspection found 25 points that needed to be worked on at the ground, and today the city council, which owns the stadium, approved the release of funds.

The work will be done in two phases – the first will see a section of the Curva A improved, which will cost €700,000.

The second sees more polycarbonate sheeting added to protect fans, at a cost of €280,000.

The work will be completed by June 30, 2013.
