Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted that Stadio San Paolo is ‘in poor condition’.

The Partenopei have been looking into moving to a new home, but are currently stuck with their ageing ground.

The club’s owner though, has revealed that they may have to look outside of the city in order to find a new ground.

“The stadium in in poor condition,” he is reported as saying by TuttoNapoli. “We can’t even accommodate a museum.

“Today I will meet the mayor at five o’clock to figure if we have to leave Naples or not.

“We’ll have to see how much they care about us.

“If we do leave Naples though, the mayor will be the one accountable. I’m tired of all this.

“Italy is country that is full of laws that are limiting, and quite frankly, anti-democratic.”

De Laurentiis though, insisted that he was not growing wary of owning the club, claiming that he still has the passion to continue.

“We’ve done a good job over the past nine and a half years. I am a twin – inside me are two passions, cinema and football.

“I have not tired of either thanks to the fans and the responsibility I have to them.”
