Walter Samuel is confident Inter can quickly climb back on top and challenge for the Scudetto. “We must believe.”
The Nerazzurri have had a disastrous start to the campaign with Gian Piero Gasperini sacked and even under Claudio Ranieri are joint third from bottom.
“I know it’s inevitable to say certain things now, but I am convinced we can still have our say,” the defender told Inter Channel.
“With two or three wins, we’ll be back on the heels of the top teams. We also have a few players back from injury, so we must believe.
“I achieved many great things with this squad and when I accepted the move to Inter, I knew I would win.
“My rapport with the group is good and we are united. When I suffered my knee injury last year, I received great support from everyone. In turn, I never let the team feel alone in difficult times.”
Samuel had words of support for his fellow Argentine and former Inter teammate Nicolas Burdisso, as the Roma man snapped knee ligaments this week and will be out for six months.
“It is terrible and I know what he’s going through. Nicolas is tough, he’ll be able to get out of this. I don’t even think about my injury anymore. I just look ahead to my future and that of Inter.”
