The scudetto favourites look to extend their lead at the top of the Serie A table as these Sampdoria vs. Napoli predictions suggest. Luciano Spalletti’s side were winter champions but will be keen not to let their healthy advantage slip.

Sampdoria vs. Napoli odds

1 – Napoli to win – 4/9

2 – Victor Osimhen to score first – 7/2

3 – Napoli to score three goals or more – 7/4

4 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 3/4

5 – Napoli to win both halves – 11/4

Serie A leaders Napoli kick-off on Sunday afternoon against a struggling Sampdoria side. Dejan Stankovic’s team have had a very different start to the season and go into the weekend in the bottom three.

The Partenopei have won all of their past six matches against the Blucerchiati and will be confident of extending their record. However, given that Napoli’s trip to the Marassi comes in the middle of matches against potential scudetto competitors Inter and Juventus, they may well be at risk of lapses in concentration. Even so, we believe the visitors are more than good value for a win on Sunday.

Luciano Spalletti’s side have displayed their strength in depth on numerous occasions, continuing their winning run while key players such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen were out injured. Ahead of Sunday’s game, all of their first choice XI are available, with the two aforementioned players strong favourites to open the scoring.

The stats do not make for pretty viewing for Sampdoria, as Napoli have scored four goals in two out of the last three editions of this fixture. Given that they go into the weekend averaging roughly 2.5 goals per game, a wager on the visitors to bag three or more here could pay off. A more conservative option would be on over 2.5 goals scored in total.

For Sampdoria, there is little solace to be found in this season’s statistics, which all point towards a defeat. The hosts have been losing at both half time and full time in four out of their last five Serie A matches – and there is good odds offered on Napoli to win both halves here.

Of course, no match is won on paper, and Dejan Stankovic’s side will be hoping that Napoli’s tendency to fall apart in the new year starts slightly early in 2023.
