Juventus began the new season in style last weekend but will be without a key player for the trip to the Marassi on Monday. These Sampdoria vs. Juventus predictions should help with your selections for what promises to be an intriguing game in Serie A.

Sampdoria vs. Juventus odds

1 – Under 2.5 total goals scored – 10/11

2 – Sampdoria over 1.5 total goals – 3/1

3 – Draw after 90 minutes – 3/1

4 – Both teams to score – 10/11

5 – Juventus to win 2-0 – 13/2

Sampdoria will feel like they were denied three points by a soft VAR decision as well as the woodwork on numerous occasions on the opening weekend of the season. The 2-0 scoreline doesn’t really reflect the balance of their game against Atalanta.

But the Blucerchiati don’t have the time to moan, with the visit of Juventus making it two home games to kick off the new Serie A season for Marco Giampaolo’s side. Neither fixture is easy though, so Samp can expect another battle on Monday evening.

With little in the way of new arrivals over the summer, Giampaolo is trusting his squad – especially the more experienced players – to improve on the 15th place finish last year. Getting anything from this game will be a tough task though.

That’s because Juventus started the new campaign in great form, overwhelming Sassuolo to win 3-0. Much of that was down to new signing Ángel Di María, who scored one and looked very good throughout his Serie A debut.

The Argentina international will be missing for this one though. He injured his abductor and will now be out for at least 10 days, missing the trip to Genoa and next week’s game against Roma too. There is still a lot of talent in this Juve squad but Maxi Allegri will be concerned about his lack of attacking players.

Juventus are still hoping to bring Memphis Depay to Turin to replace the outgoing Álvaro Morata. Di María’s arrival was supposed to help with that but now Dušan Vlahović will have more to do to break down the Samp defence.

Sampdoria team news

Marco Giampaolo will have virtually a full squad to pick from for the visit of Juventus and may well put his faith in the eleven that started against Atalanta. Expect Quagliarella to come off the bench in the second half though.

Juventus team news

Juventus have been dealt a blow with the injury to Di María. He looked their best player against Sassuolo and now Allegri must figure out who to help out Vlahović up top. Moise Kean may get the nod, although there are rumours that McKennie may play further up the field.
