Sampdoria, who had five players test positive for Coronavirus, announced they won’t give any further updates to “avoid creating further public alarm.”
The Blucerchiati are the hardest-hit by the pandemic so far in Serie A, as Manolo Gabbiadini was the second player to test positive after Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
Yesterday, Sampdoria announced that Omar Colley, Albin Ekdal, Antonino La Gumina, Morten Thorsby and club doctor Amedeo Baldari had all tested positive too.

It’s likely with so many in the same squad catching the Coronavirus, it is going to spread within the group even further.
However, Sampdoria released a statement this afternoon warning they will no longer give information on their players or staff who have been tested due to “minor symptoms.
“The only important news is that the lads are all fine and are in their homes in Genoa. In such a complicated moment for our country and out of respect for those who are working on the front line, it’s our duty not to fuel further concerns or public alarm for a situation that is under control.
“We invite the media to respect our decision.”
Fiorentina have also had three players test positive for Coronavirus – Dusan Vlahovic, German Pezzella and Patrick Cutrone.
