Sampdoria players are reportedly preparing to sign agreements with the club that’ll see them waive their December wage payments in order to avoid being handed a point deduction.

The Blucerchiati have been in a state of chaos both on and off the pitch this season, slumping to 19th in the Serie A table and struggling with concerning financial issues.

Pressures began to mount up in recent months and the club were unable to pay their players or staff for the final quarter of 2022, putting them at risk of punishment, including a two-point deduction.

As highlighted by TMW, individual agreements are now being drawn up between the Sampdoria players and the club that’ll see them agree to waive their wages for December, giving the club enough resources to resolve their other payments before the deadlines.

Constant contacts are now underway between players, agents and lawyers to define the details of the agreement, which’ll likely see the waivered salaries returned in the June payment as a form of bonus.
